Dr. Fares bin Mohammed bin Matar Al-Shammari is a Saudi national, descended from the Al-Fayed Al-Aslam tribe of the Shammar clan. From an early age, Dr. Fares showed a passion for reading, with a strong inclination toward literature, history, and social sciences, and he excelled in academic competitions. He devoted himself to self-development and, during his early education, won numerous awards in poetry, public speaking, and reading.
He pursued higher education at Yarmouk University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law in 2013 and a Master’s degree in Law in 2016. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Law from the University of Bahrain in December 2023, graduating with distinction and honors — becoming the first Saudi national to earn a doctorate in Civil Law from the University of Bahrain.
Dr. Fares has a clear vision for legal development, based on contributing to training and capacity-building, supporting a new generation of specialized professionals, and promoting credibility and dedication in legal practice. He strongly believes in the vital role of legal systems in achieving stability and development, and therefore seeks to establish and enhance appropriate legal frameworks for the community and its progress.
Combining both academic and professional paths, Dr. Fares founded the Law Office of Fares bin Mohammed Al-Shammari for Advocacy, Arbitration, and Legal Consultations in 2018, which was later transformed into Awatad Legal for Advocacy and Legal Consultations in 2022
